Starbucks Via Ready Brew will be available from select Starbucks stores in London from March 25. It will is pre-portioned into single-serve packets and will be packaged in books of three or boxes of 12.
The suggested retail price for the UK will be £1.20 for three and £3.95 for 12, equating 40p or less per cup.
The Seattle-based retail coffee giant is also selling Via from next month in the US. Starbucks said it has been working on the product for more than 20-years and claims that Starbucks Via is ‘breakthrough' new product.
It claims that in taste tests consumers could not tell the difference between instant and fresh brewed.
In the UK instant coffee accounts for 81% of all coffee sales.
