Ten Alps RMA, the agency owned by the former Boomtown Rat and Live8 organiser Sir Bob Geldof, is the incumbent on the account and will be asked to repitch.
The successful agency will be tasked with reinventing the brand.
Instead of just aiming its passenger lifts and vertical platforms at the disabled and OAP market, the company is now looking to target the increasingly affluent grey market.
Stannah wants to push the positive aspects of the lifts, such as their ease of use and increasingly stylish designs, while moving away from any perceptions of feebleness.
This strategy rethink has been instigated to back the launch of the company's newest models, the Stannah Solus and the Stannah Sofia, at the end of 2005.
The two new lifts have been designed in response to a more demanding and design-conscious consumer and the company hopes they will help remove some of the stigma that has prevented many potential users from buying stairlifts in the past.
Joseph Stannah founded the company, which is now the UK's largest supplier of stairlifts, in 1860 and it is still a family-owned business.
