Sprint goes to deadly extremes to take on Verizon in Super Bowl spot

A Verizon customer fakes his own demise in Droga5's first work for the brand.

Sprint may have taken last year off from the Super Bowl, but it hasn't forgotten that Verizon is nemesis numero uno. In 2015, the  for calling them sheep in a previous ad and then proceeded to label them as jackasses in its Big Game commercial. Last week, Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure tweeted that this year's  Not to disappoint, the Droga5-created film features former Verizon spokesman Paul Marcerelli who advises a dad—who just faked his own death to get out of his expensive Verizon contract—that he could've just switched to Sprint. Oops. The 30-second spot will appear in the second quarter of the Super Bowl.
