Spectator commercial head takes on The Business

Press Holdings has extended the remit of The Spectator's commercial director, Nick Spong, to cover The Business - which becomes a magazine in October - and arts magazine Apollo.

From September, Spong will be commercial director of all three titles, which have been grouped together in a new division, Press Holdings Magazine Publishing Group.
Spong will be supported by a team drawn from the magazines. Katherine Rainbird will be client sales director across the three titles. She is currently client sales director at the Spectator. Andy Whelan, who currently heads the commercial team at The Business, will be in charge of new revenue streams, including digital ventures.
The Business is due to launch as a full-colour 72 page magazine on 12 October, with the aim of becoming a London-based international business magazine. It will be on sale every Thursday.
The Business newspaper prints its last edition on 1 October.
