Freixenet, the leading producer of Spanish sparkling wine, Cava, is
launching its first UK television campaign for seven years.
The ads, by KLP, break on November 13 and run on Carlton, Meridien, and
LWT for five weeks. The ads end with the strapline ’Too much fun to be
taken seriously’. KLP will be backing the pounds 1m TV campaign with
press ads in women’s home and lifestyle magazines and national
newspapers.
Freixenet decided to go back on TV following KLP research which showed
that there was huge growth potential in this market, particularly in the
south-east. The company is Spain’s biggest exporter of sparkling
wine.
Last year it sold 65.3 million bottles abroad, 21% more than the
previous year.
