His comments come in the wake of the Aegis Group, which owns the media-buying company Carat, being forced to write off 拢10m relating to its Argentine investments in 2001.
WPP, the world's second-largest advertising services company, currently sees 拢760m in revenues from Latin America, Canada, Asia Pacific and Africa and the Middle East, with Argentina generating about 1.5% of worldwide income. Sir Martin would not reveal his plans for expansion in the country.
In the company's statement of 2001 results, it said that expansion in Latin America was one of its long-term goals.
