Sony Bravia's 'paint' scoops TV gold at BTAA

Fallon's "paint" ad for Sony Bravia triumphed at the British Television Advertising Awards, being named the Best TV Commercial of the Year.

The awards, held last night at London's Grosvenor House, saw four other ads scoop gold: DFGW's "Elvis introductions" for BBC Radio 2; Saatchi & Saatchi's "Old Lions" for Carlsberg; JWT's "idiots" for MTV and Mother's "the return" for PG Tips.

Mother was also named Agency of the Year, credited for its Johnny Vegas and Monkey comeback for PG Tips as well as its Pot Noodle ads.

Gorgeous won Production Company of the Year, while the director Chris Palmer took the Chairman's Award.

The awards, chaired by the DDB creative director, Jeremy Craigen, were chosen by a jury of 17 industry figures. They included Marc Sands, the marketing director of The Guardian; the former JWT creative director Nick Bell; and Ben Walker, the Wieden & Kennedy creative director.
