Sonos launches ReScored campaign with Abbey Road Studios

Sonos has partnered with creative agency Amplify and Abbey Road Studios to launch wireless home cinema speaker Playbase, with a campaign targeting up and coming filmmakers.

ReScored extends the brand’s existing partnership with Abbey Road Studios and gives directors a chance to have their short films rescored by Academy Award winning British film composer Steven Price and produced by Giles Martin, Abbey Road’s music producer and the Sonos experience leader.

Jamie Coomber-Blunden, Sonos UK marketing director, said: "The initiative helps Sonos ensure the way people feel about music and film is reflected in the way they listen to it. What better way of showing how Playbase can bring the cinema experience into the home than by supporting Britain’s up-and-coming filmmakers through the ultimate filmic audio experience."

The winning film will be revealed on 22 June during a premiere at Abbey Road Studios, where the new score will be performed by a live orchestra.

Once the winning film is unveiled, the campaign will continue with a social content campaign pushing out "the making-of" films and footage of the re-scoring production process, produced by Amplify. Media partners include the Guardian, Nowness and No Film School.

The focus on film follows on from the brand’s work on music at home in 2016, which included the "Wake up the silent home" campaign and the Sonos Speaker Amnesty.
