Snook to step down as Orange chief

Orange chief executive Hans Snook has confirmed he will step down next year to make way for his replacement, Jean-Francois Pontal, currently executive vice-president of the mobile phone operator’s parent France Telecom.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – Orange chief executive Hans Snook has confirmed he will step down next year to make way for his replacement, Jean-Francois Pontal, currently executive vice-president of the mobile phone operator’s parent France Telecom.

Snook, who founded Orange, will become a special advisor to France Telecom chairman Michel Bon.

Snook is expected to step down once the mobile company’s IPO is completed, which is forecast for the end of March 2001.
