As well as the Manchester Arena, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena and the new Leeds Arena, which opens later this year, Showsec will provide staff and services to SMG’s portfolio of five regional theatres.
The relationship between SMG and Showsec began back in 1995, with the opening of the Manchester Arena (then the Manchester Evening News Arena).
John Sutherland, managing director and senior VP of SMG Europe, said: "We have grown together over the years, and Showsec has demonstrated a real commitment to training and employee relations. Having a stewarding company which shares the same ethos and care for our customers is a valuable asset for any venue operator."
When the 13,000-capacity Leeds Arena opens in September, SMG Europe’s venues in England will attract more than three million ticket holders each year.
Mark Harding, managing director of Showsec said he is "particularly excited" to be working with SMG towards making the new Leeds Arena one of the UK’s flagship venues.
"We value the trust this agreement shows SMG hold for us, this strengthens our long-term relationship and enables us to invest further in our service development to meet the ongoing challenges in our sector," he said.
