The promotion runs on all of Emap's Big City radio stations, which includes Key 103 in Manchester and Radio City in Liverpool.
Listeners will be invited to vote to get a pop act to play at their school and the school with the most votes in each Big City area will win an exclusive live performance.
Advertorials in Smash Hits, Sneak and Match will support the promotion, as well as media on Emap's youth websites.
The deal was brokered by Performance Sport Worldwide, MindShare's specialist sponsorship consultancy.
Olivia Wright, cross-media account director at Emap, said: "We are delighted to be developing and evolving our relationship with Smarties for the third year running. This year's campaign taps in to new audiences via the Big City School Tour, Sneak, Match and The Hits."
Smarties runs a long-term sponsorship on Emap channels The Box and The Hits.
