Sleazenation uses ironic cover to sell cool kit and vodka

Sleazenation has "pushed the boundries between editorial and

advertising" by creating a lenticular front cover for Absolut Vodka.

The October issue of the super cool style magazine features a model and

the strapline "Absolute Sell Out."

When the cover is viewed from a different angle, items of clothing with

prices appear alongside the model and the 'e' of Absolute turns

yellow.

The back cover of the issue - which hit newsstands last Friday - is also

a lenticular image, this time featuring the iconic Absolut Vodka

bottle.

The cover complements the theme of the October issue, which features

articles about "the blurring line between advertising and art."

Anthony Swede, an account manager for Manning Gottlieb Media, approached

Miles Dunbar, senior sales executive at Sleazenation, with the

innovative idea.

Dunbar said: "We are always trying to come up with interesting ideas and

Absolut has a history of sponsoring art events. They've been booking

display advertising with us for a while but by doing this they break the

taboo of advertising on a magazine's front cover."
