Sky Sports 2 pulls in 2.8m viewers for Chelsea victory

LONDON - Sky Sports 2 drew one of its biggest audiences for the Uefa Champions League semi-final between Chelsea and Liverpool last night as 2.8m tuned in, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Viewers tuning in to the game watched Chelsea beat Liverpool 3-2 to win a place in the final with Manchester United in Moscow, achieved a 14% share of the multi-channel audience for Sky Sports 2.

BBC One's 'The Apprentice' achieved another strong performance, winning the 9pm slot with 6.8m viewers tuning in and a 26.9% share of the audience at this time.

The episode involved the contestants attempting to create an original greetings card and ended with project manager Kevin Shaw being booted out.

ITV pulled in 3.5m viewers for its 'Madeleine, One Year On' documentary, in which Kate and Gerry McCann talked about the events of the night their daughter disappeared. It achieved a 14.4% share of the audience in the 8pm-10pm slot.

The third part of Channel 4's 'Embarrassing Bodies' series, which focused on vaginas, netted 2.6m viewers and a 10.1% share of the 9pm audience. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2.9m viewers and a 11.5% share.

This was an improvement on the second episode, which aired the previous night and attracted 2.3m viewers and an 8.9% share of the 9pm-10pm audience. Including Channel 4+1, it drew in 2.7m viewers and a 10.2% share.

'Embarrassing Bodies' beat Five's historical documentary 'Escape from Alcatraz: The True Story' which attracted 1.2m viewers and a 4.7% share of the 9pm audience.

Channel 4's 'Desperate Housewives' attracted 2.1m viewers and an 11.4% share of the 10pm audience. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2.3m and a 12.3% share.
