It has poached Telegraph Media Group's sales manager Alex Blaikley and Global Radio's head of strategic solutions Phil Shade to become group account directors - new posts at Sky. Sky's group head, Ben Murphy, who joined in January, also becomes a group account director.

Sky Digital Media group head Mike Newcombe moves across the agency team to the new role of group account director, mobile and video. Tom Bevan also becomes product manager, mobile and video, and Matthew Holt moves across from the agency team to strengthen the creative solutions team.

Separately, Sky has signed up to sponsor the so-called gold spot across cinemas nationwide until June 2010, in a deal brokered by MediaCom. The spot was previously sponsored by Disney.

The 60-second slot runs before every family feature film screened in UK cinemas. It will feature in the forthcoming 3D film, A Christmas Carol. Other films included in the deal period are Alice in Wonderland, Shrek 4 and Toy Story 3.

Sky will also be the first advertiser to show full 3D-compatible ads alongside films that are run in 3D.
