Sky offers hit films and added features for autumn season

Sky Television has launched its 2001 autumn programme schedule and

announced new facilities for its Sky Movies Active Service.

The highlight of the autumn film schedule sees Russell Crowe appearing

in the acclaimed Gladiator in its first showing on free-to-air

subscription channels.

Gladiator tops the bill of films for Sky's movie channels in October and

November. Other highlights include first TV showings of O Brother, Where

Art Thou, starring George Clooney, the Brit film success Billy Elliot,

American Beauty and Erin Brockovich, the film based on a true story and

featuring Julia Roberts.

Sky Movie Max and Sky Cinema highlights include Go, 8mm, Dr Strangelove,

and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Sky Television has also announced the launch of Sky Movie Active's new

facility, where viewers can book cinema tickets through their remote

control. This service will be available soon.

Sky Movies will also be sponsoring the 2001 Regus London Film Festival

from 7-22 November, where it will host a Sky Movies lounge and will have

a series of reporters feeding live news back to the Sky Movies Active

movie news section.
