Sky Media names new head of sponsorship

LONDON - Sky Media, the airtime sales division of BSkyB, has strengthened its sponsorship team with the appointment of Zoe Fuller to the position of sponsorship controller.

Fuller will take responsibility for securing sponsorship agreements for Sky's non-sports channels, including Sky One, Sky News and Sky Movies. Her previous role at Sky Media was sales controller, with responsibility for airtime sales for Discovery Networks' channels.

Previously Fuller, who joined Sky Media in 2001, had spent six years at sponsorship agency Drum PHD, where she negotiated deals including Homebase's sponsorship of ITV1's 'Better Homes', The Guardian's sponsorship of Film on 4 on Channel 4 and Pizza Hut's sponsorship of the Nationwide League and Worthington Cup on Sky Sports.

Fuller reports to Mark Wood, Sky Media's commercial director. Wood said: "We are thrilled to have someone with Zoe's experience and depth of understanding of sponsorship join our team."

Recent deals negotiated by Sky Media's sponsorship team include Haagen Dazs' sponsorship of Sky Movies, First State's sponsorship of Sky Sports exclusive live coverage of England's Ashes Tour, Zurich Financial Services' sponsorship of rugby union on Sky Sports and The Business' sponsorship of 'Financial Report' on Sky News.
