Sky adds channels to interactive portfolio

Sky Media鈥檚 History and Biography channels will become the latest channels to offer interactive advertising, reports Lucia Cockcroft.

The first interactive advertiser will be Toyoto, which will be promoting its Avensis and Verso models.

 

The History and Biography channels will join other Sky outlets, such as Sky One, Sky News and Sky Sports, in offering interactive advertisements.

 

Robert Leach, head of interactive services at Sky Media, said: 鈥淭he launch of interactive advertising on The History Channel and Biography Channel is another step forward for this fast-growing medium.

 

鈥淏y extending the reach of iTV advertising we can deliver even more cost-effective solutions to clients looking to engage more fully with today鈥檚 consumers鈥.

 

Sky broadcast its first interactive advertisement on UK national television in March 2000 and has since run over 450 interactive campaigns.
