Stars from the world of exploration, sport, sailing and music will gather for a fundraising evening at the home of the Royal Society in aid of The Coldest Journey, which is Fiennes’ record-breaking, nine-month long Antarctic winter expedition.

The black tie dinner called A Night to Remember will be co-hosted by Fiennes and English actress Joanna Lumley, with silent and live auctions to take place throughout the evening. Prizes will include Formula 1 driver Jenson Button's racing suit and a role in renowned concert violinist Jenny Bae’s next music video.

Bae and R&B singer Keisha White will be entertaining guests on the night, while the remaining five expedition members from The Coldest Journey will be giving an exclusive update and Q&A session via a live satellite phone link-up.

Guests will also be able to enjoy canapés, champagne from sponsors GH Mumm, and Lumley’s own Sastrugi cocktail consisting of lemon sorbet, blue Curacao, vodka and frozen blueberries, named after the ice formations at the South Pole.

A three-course dinner will feature a horseradish granita with Coronation duck egg custard, Arctic char, seaweed crisps and a dessert in the shape of an Antarctic Roll, featuring freeze dried raspberry meringue.
