Two senior managers at Security firm Showsec have received qualifications in crowd management, while the company has announced that its 1,000th employee has achieved a Level Two NCFE event stewarding qualification and its 500th staff member has been accredited by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
The two managers, Mark Harding and Simon Battersby, graduated from the foundation degree in crowd and safety management at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.
New rules mean that all contracted event security staff need to have been trained to SIA standards by 20 March 2006 (Event, June).
