SHORT FILMS 39: One Million Kingdoms

Artist Pierre Huyghe's 'One Million Kingdoms' won't be seen on TV or in the cinema. Instead, it will appear in a gallery, The French Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia. Production company Sparx created 2D and 3D animation to represent the artist's idea that the lunar landscape becomes a visualisation of sound. So Ann Lee, a manga character, wanders through peaks which rise and fall depending on the pitch of a text written by Huyghe but spoken by a fictive 1960s Neil Armstrong.
