Shopping comparison site founder quits

Philip Wilkinson is leaving his role at shopping comparison site Kelkoo to explore new ventures. A founder and director of the service, Wilkinson will remain involved with the company as both a shareholder and a consultant on a project basis.

He will initially take time off before looking at new ventures and

involvement with other companies. "I have some ideas for new ventures

and will be networking. It probably won't be shopping," said Wilkinson.

"It could very well be internet-based with a lot more focus on

generating revenue early on."

Dorothea Arndt, head of marketing at Kelkoo, said: "For some time now

Philip has been keen to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, and now seems

to be a good time to do that. He will continue to work on projects, such

as developing new products and taking Kelkoo into new markets."

She added that Wilkinson's main role had been to bring together the best

features from all the sites that merged into Kelkoo last year, a project

that had now ended.
