Shameless cleans up at Golden Nymphs

LONDON - The Channel 4 drama 'Shameless', about a dysfunctional, loud-mouthed family living in Manchester, has walked away with three prestigious Golden Nymph awards at the Monte Carlo Television Festival.

It picked up The European Television Producer Award, the Outstanding European Producer Award and the Outstanding Actress of the Year Award, which went to Anne-Marie Duff who plays hapless Fiona Gallagher in the sitcom.

Other UK award winners include Paul Abbott for Best Script in the mini-series category for BBC One's 'State of Play', RDF Media director Stephen Lambert collected Reality Format of the Year for C4's 'Wife Swap' and other format awards went to Celador for the global phenomenon, 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'
