Seven Squared moves into digital

Customer publisher Seven Squared has made its first major move into digital publishing with a deal to launch a multi-platform offering for bookseller Waterstone's.

Seven Squared is linking with book publisher HarperCollins to make the News Corp-owned company's high-profile interviews, which are published in Waterstone's literary customer magazine Books Quarterly, available as videos online at Waterstones.com

The bookseller hopes to use the Waterstones.com service to host a variety of video interviews that are published in the magazine.

The first will be taken from the January edition with acclaimed author Hari Kunzru interviewing British writer JG Ballard.

The video content will be flagged in Books Quarterly, with a link to the dedicated author page on the site. The link will also feature in Waterstone's e-mail newsletter and in-store point-of-sale material.

Seven Squared recently appointed Mike Burgess as head of digital to develop its multi-platform content.
