Setanta beefs-up for digital

LONDON - Setanta Sports has strengthened its digital marketing capability with the appointment of Ben Carter as online marketing and acquisition manager.

Carter will be responsible for leading Setanta’s digital marketing and the acquisition of new subscribers through online display, search and affiliate marketing. He will report into Setanta Sports marketing manager UK, Timothy Ryan.

Carter founded Evolv Digital (formerly BCA), a next generation digital agency with clients including AOL, npower, British Gas, O2 and UK Sport.

Previously Carter spent eight years as a business journalist covering the UK media and marketing sectors. In 2004 he became news editor of Marketing magazine and prior to that, he was deputy editor of New Media Age for four years.
