Sense has created an indoor rainforest in a derelict building in Point Village in Dublin, highlighting Sky’s work with the World Wildlife Fund to save forests in the state of Acre in the Brazilian Amazon.

The rainforest will be visited tomorrow (28 September) by primary school children from Dublin, following a live TV show set in the temporary rainforest. The children will experience an interactive educational tour where they learn to help water the forest.

Sense has also teamed up with the Forestry Commission to create a series of discovery trails and canopy walks. The trails begin in Sherwood Pines from 28 September – 30 November. On the 1.6km walk, visitors can experience a taste of the Amazon by spotting rainforest icons hidden in the forest and learning about what they represent.

The canopy walks are educational tours of Sherwood Forest and Cannock Chase, both Forestry Commission sites. The experience will roll out to further Forestry Commission sites in 2013.
