Sega appoints new UK marketing director

- Sega Europe has appointed Giles Thomas from MTV as its new UK marketing director in advance of the launch of the company's new games console, Dreamcast, which is set to launch in September 1999.

- Sega Europe has appointed Giles Thomas from MTV as its new UK marketing director in advance of the launch of the company's new games console, Dreamcast, which is set to launch in September 1999.

Thomas has been poached from MTV Networks Europe where he was UK head of marketing. He previously worked at Young & Rubicam, Chiat Day and Banks Hoggins O'Shea.

Thomas will work closely with Branded, the strategic marketing company led by Philip Ley, on the launch of Dreamcast, which is to be backed by £100 million European marketing spend.
