A screening will simultaneously be staged in the 'jungle' refugee camp in Calais, where the company is currently building a makeshift cinema.

Secret Cinema is seeking people’s participation in the protest, as well as their ongoing support so that it can build cinemas in refugee camps across the world. Once constructed, the idea is that they will offer a cultural programme for adults and children.

Apart from the UK and France, additional screenings are also confirmed to take place in Japan, Kenya and Tunisia. Those interested in hosting a screening in their home country are being encouraged to get in touch.

Information about the London screening, where all donations will be presented to the Refugee Council, will be sent to ticket holders on Thursday (10 September).

Tickets are available via the Eventbrite website.
