Used Event Stuff has proved popular in the United States and now its founder, James François-Pijuan, has opened the service to the UK market.
Andrew Williams, MD of green event agency Seventeen Events, has given his support to the environmentally friendly aspect of the service.
"We see Used Event Stuff as a natural extension of our work to make the UK event industry more sustainable," he said.
"It's such a clever, simple idea that you can't imagine why no one has thought of it up to now."
The website acts as a kind of 'eBay for events', with buyers able to view stock for sale in their region while sellers list items available at a price they feel is fair.
