Profit rose 47% to £618,676 and turnover grew by 10% to exceed £18m.

"This year, we have really seen the benefits of combining marketing and sales expertise in a joint sales division, allowing us to work to a tight tenancy calendar and maximising long and short term business opportunities," said SECC CEO John Sharkey.

Construction is continuing on a Scottish National Arena and the SECC said it has hit major milestones with the completion of the roads and utilities infrastructure.

"The Arena will be hugely beneficial not just for us but for Glasgow as a whole, providing a custom built entertainment events space," said Sharkey. "The city has always been a favourite with top artists and this new space will us to stage even more exciting concerts and performances."
