The Olympic special, which boasts a four-page cover wrap by official London 2012 sponsor British Airways (BA), looks back at the six years since London won the bid to host the games.
The issue, which is out today (Friday), also includes ads from official 2012 partners Samsung, BMW, EDF, Cadbury, Lloyds TSB, Links of London, BP and McDonald’s.
Lord Coe, a former Olympic gold medallist, took over the editorial responsibilities from editor-in-chief Simon Caney for the issue.
Inside the magazine, Coe reveals his top 10 Olympians of all time and gives readers a progress report on the London 2012 venues. He also discusses the issue of ticketing.
The magazine also includes interviews with Olympic legends Steve Redgrave and Michael Phelps.
Coe said: "The one-year-to-go mark is hugely significant. In a year’s time, the greatest show on earth is coming to our shores."
Iain Duffy, Sport sales director, said: "Due to the excellent working relationship we have with Locog and the ongoing editorial support we have shown the Games, we can guarantee London 2012 partners a 100 % safe, positive and engaging editorial environment, without them sacrificing scale. As a primarily London-based title, we will play an increasing role in the media mix for clients and agencies in the run-up to next year."
Sport Magazine is a free weekly title, which launched in September 2006. It is distributed to more than 300,000 people in and around Greater London.
