Seat UK selects marketing chief

Seat UK has promoted its national communications manager Steve Robertson to head of marketing.

The former MG Rover marketing chief replaces Mark McKenna, who has become head of operations, overseeing Seat's sales arm (Marketing, 12 April).

Seat sold 28,431 cars in the UK last year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, a fall of 14.4% from 2004.

Recent activity has focused on the Leon FR and Altea models. Ads for the latter feature John McEnroe and use the strapline 'Auto emocion'. Its next activity is likely to back its hatchback Leon Cupra, which launched at July's British International Motor Show.
