Scotsman axes top ads duo as market conditions toughen

Scotsman Publications has been forced to make its Scotland-based ad

director and recruitment ad manager redundant.

Display and classified ad director John Currie had worked at The

Scotsman for nearly 20 years, while recruitment head Wilma Leslie had

accrued almost 17 years. Both are thought to be in redundancy

negotiations.

The Scotsman retains both a head of display and head of classified in

Scotland, as well as an advertising managing director, Richard

Bogie.

Industry sources say the publisher made the cuts as a result of tough

market conditions.
