The tenth MTV Music Europe Awards will be staged in Scotland. A temporary structure holding 6,000 people will house the ceremony at Western Harbour, Leith near Edinburgh on 6 November. MTV Networks UK managing director Michiel Bak-ker said: “The event will be the culmination of a host of MTV anniversary events to take place across the country, as well as in and around Edinburgh. Our viewing figures show that MTV is Scotland’s favourite music channel and we wanted to make the event an extra special thank-you for the support fans have shown us.” Event management firm Events By Appointment will again team up with registration firm Eventbookings.com to organise accommodation, flights and logistics for the ceremony (Event, January). Other contracts including the temporary structure supplier had not been announced as Event went to press.
