The cultural festival was planned to run from 27 July - 12 August on the marshes, which sit on the perimeter of the Olympic Park.
Organisers told Event that the festival is in a "state of flux" owing to financial issues, but that there is still every chance it will be going ahead. "There are a number of things going on at the moment, but we are still receiving support and goodwill from all our stakeholders," an organiser said.
A statement on the festival’s Facebook page confirms that the event "has not gone bust" but that it has been put on hold.
"We do hope to be able to re-start, but think it only fair not to sell tickets whilst we sort things out. There are various irons in the fire to rescue what will be the hottest ticket this summer," said the statement.
Owing to the uncertainty of the festival, organisers say those who have already bought tickets for the event will receive a refund.
At the time of going to press there was no official statement from tthe festival’s media partner, Metro, on the future of the event.
, the festival was in talks with several National Olympic Committees, embassies and high commissioners about establishing a national Olympic house at the event.
