Owen joined the Science Museum Events team in July 2006 as a sales executive and was promoted to a sales manager role in 2007. His new role will see him head up both the London and Wroughton Science Museum sites.
Prior to working for The National Museum of Science and Industry (the body which runs the Science Museum), Owen was employed as events sales and marketing executive at Alexandra Palace.
"During a turbulent year the Museum has maintained its enviable market position through initiatives to grow our conference business and partnerships," said Owen.
"It is a very exciting time for both venues, with the unlimited possibilities for large-scale events at our hidden-gem site in Wroughton to explore, as well as major developments linked to the Science Museum's centenary year."
