The 19-year-old, who won the best actress Bafta for 'Lost in Translation' Sofia Coppola's movie with Bill Murray, will be the face of a new Calvin Klein fragrance to launch in the autumn, which will target the 18-35 age range.
US agency Kraftwords will create a TV and print advertising campaign to back the launch, which the actress who first came to cinemagoers' attentions in 'The Horse Whisperer' will shoot in March.
No figure has been put on the value of the deal. Kim Vernon, senior vice-president of global communications for Calvin Klein, said: "Scarlett is a talented young force who exudes a sophistication and confidence that is not readily seen today and she balances it all with a relaxed attitude and a sense of humour."
Cosmetics International's other brands include Vera Wang, Chloe and Cerruti as well as CK One, Obsession and Eternity.
The actress is also currently appearing in 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' with Colin Firth and last night presented The Darkness with their Brit award for Best British Album for 'Permission to Land'.
