
As a result the business will undergo a management restructure, with Kay's role being split between Story's senior management team.
Kay helped launch the creative event agency, which now employs 18 members of staff, along with Sam Gill in 2013. Gill stepped down from his role as director last year.
Dominique Gill will remain as CEO and oversee the business. "The business growth has surpassed all of our expectations and it is vital that we create a management structure that allows us to continue to grow whilst ensuring we remain totally focused on our clients and stay true to our ethos," she commented.
"Sarah has played a pivotal role in our launch and development stages and the new management team will be very focused on taking Story Events to the next step of its journey."
Melanie Miles will step into the role of Story bespoke managing director, while Rosalind Shelley will take up the position of venue search London managing director. Steph Eayrs will become operations director.
"The business has grown substantially since my joining in 2014 and it has been refreshing to design processes from scratch to support the businesses needs. The next steps are to develop these in line with the scale of projects we are now producing in order that we can seamlessly deliver going forward," said Eayrs.
Story hopes to take on an additional four recruits in the next quarter and is on track to hit its projected £3m turnover target this financial year.
