Sara Lee calls £100m pan-Euro media pitch

Sara Lee International is reviewing its estimated £100 million pan-European media planning and buying business.

The company, which uses nine agencies on a local basis in Europe, will consolidate media into up to two agencies. The review covers household and bodycare brands including Brylcream, Radox, Sanex, Ambi-Pur, Kiwi shoe polish and Douwe Egberts.

ZenithOptimedia, which handles the £11 million UK planning and buying account, is in talks with Sara Lee about the future of the business.

A US review last year saw Sara Lee consolidate its $200 million account into ZenithOptimedia's sister Publicis agency, Starcom.

Creative for household products, handled in the UK by Grey and WCRS, is unaffected by the review.
