The South Korean electronics manufacturer will not promoe its tablet device at the fair this week, after a Düsseldorf court granted a request from Apple to ban Samsung from selling the product in Germany.

The injunction is the latest in an ongoing patent war that began when Apple accused Samsung of infringing its patents over design similarities with its Galaxy line of smartphone and tablet computers.

Last month, Apple obtained a court injunction banning Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Europe. However, this was lifted shortly afterwards in all countries except Germany, while the court clarifies whether the ruling was fair.

Samsung has hit back by counter-suing Apple in Germany, Japan and South Korea.

Samsung and Apple did not respond to a request for comment on the news.

Amazon is also gearing up to enter the market with its own tablet device.

Tech news blog the device has a seven-inch touchscreen, will be called the Amazon Kindle, and will be in stores before Christmas.
