Managing director Marc Keenan said that, due to the challenging market, Forrest Media Group has had to part company with Power. Keenan added Power had left the company with immediate effect.
Power was responsible for selling Forrest's portfolio of backlights, digital city screens and banners to outdoor specialists, agencies and clients. He will not be directly replaced and his duties will be assumed by Keenan.
The redundancy is understood to be a reflection of the decline in outdoor ad spend and of Forrest's particular vulnerability, given its geographical position away from the key London ad market.
It is not known what Power's plans are or whether he intends to stay in the media industry. He was previously employed at Clear Channel Outdoor, where he worked on large format banners.
Forrest Group is based in Glasgow and operates a variety of formats across Scotland and the North of England, as well as renting outdoor sites to other media owners.
