This is according to Event’s 2013 Salary Survey, which gathered responses from more than 1,350 event professionals, and was carried out in partnership with ESP Recruitment and Zing Insights.
Being able to work across a variety of events, including conferences, networking events, awards ceremonies and exhibitions, motivates event professionals the most in the workplace, with variety of projects emerging as the top motivating factor.
Of those surveyed, 14.3% of respondents chose this, with personal development in third place, with 12.7% of respondents opting for this.
Liz Sinclair, director at ESP Recruitment, said: "They do say that variety is the spice of life. Just working on one type of event can make the role a bit dull, as different types of events create different challenges and levels of creativity."
The least work motivating factors for event professionals were training, flexible working and job title/seniority.
