The UK's second-biggest supermarket chain has appointed Jeremy Schwartz, Coke's innovation director for Europe and Eurasia, to be its brand marketing director.
Reporting to assistant managing director Sara Weller, who retains board-level responsibility for marketing, Schwartz will oversee the development of Sainsbury's brand marketing function, including advertising, own-label strategy, brand identity and packaging design.
Schwartz will also assume responsibility for Sainsbury's customer service experience, developing in-store environments to support new formats and concept stores. He replaces Andrew Ground, who moved across to the newly created role of health and beauty director earlier this year.
