LONDON - Sainsbury's Finance is offering its customers double Nectar points for two years when they take out selected finance products.

Launching tomorrow the new reward tactic aims to promote Sainsbury's Finance products. It will be supportedby an integrated marketing campaign spanning TV, radio and press advertising as well as outdoor advertising including 48-sheet billboards at Sainsbury's key store sites.

The new proposition will see customers able to earn double their normal Nectar reward points on Sainsbury's shopping for two years when they take out selected Sainsbury's Finance products. This is equivalent to an additional 1% off their Sainsbury's shopping bill. 

The 40-second TV ad features the Sainsbury's 'Sarah' family and will be supported by three 20-second ads during ad breaks. The ad will run for an initial seven week period and will be shown across a range of prime-time slots

Sainsbury's finance products include credit cards, easy saver investments, and home and pet insurances.

Hillary Williams, marketing director at Sainsbury's Finance, said: ‘We know that three quarters of people are dissatisfied with the reward they currently receive from their finance provider, and many receive none at all. Our new approach will allow Sainsbury's finance customers to save money every time they go in store, fill up their car or shop online with Sainsbury's as well as benefiting from good quality, award winning financial products.'

The activity is similar to that of Tesco's, which recently re-launched the Clubcard, offering double points on all purchases made in-store and online. Tesco's however, has put no timescale on the 'double up' activity.
