The ‘Summer Sorted’ campaign, which runs until 24 August, features three real families who will suggest ways to help stretch budgets and keep lunchtimes interesting.

TV, print, digital and social media activity (see below) will centre on "food lovers" Anna Young, Desmond Smith and Rashida Boateng, each a parent, showing consumers how to recreate their own favourite recipes.

The supermarket is also offering customers the opportunity to exchange Nectar points for vouchers at over 1,200 attractions across the UK, as well as a new app, called iSPIES, to help entertain children on long journeys.

Sarah Warby, Sainsbury’s marketing director, said: "We know that the summer holidays can be both fun and challenging for parents who are constantly looking for ways to keep their children entertained, whilst sticking to a budget.

"Our Summer Sorted campaign offers help and guidance to cope with those extra meals and fun mealtime solutions that involve the whole family. We have chosen real people to play the starring roles in this campaign simply because our customers want advice and help from people who they can relate to and offer achievable ideas which can be recreated at home."
