Sainsbury's "Nicholas the sweep" by Wieden & Kennedy London

Sainsbury's travels back to Dickensian London to create a myth about Santa's origin story.

The film imagines the first Sainsbury’s shop in 1869, where a young chimney sweep called Nick is wrongly accused of stealing a clementine. After he is banished from the city, Mary Ann Sainsbury rescues him from the cold and gives him his own sack of clementines. Nick pays it forward and drops the fruit in the socks of his fellow sweeps, spreading Christmas magic among the local children. The work was created by Tom Bender, Tom Corcoran, Tomas Coleman and Mat Kramer, and directed by Ninian Doff through Pulse Films.
