Saatchis unveils specialised point-of-purchase division

LONDON - Saatchi & Saatchi has strengthened its in-store and promotional marketing division with the launch of a specialised point-of-purchase unit headed by director Chris Kazakeos.

The new division will be part of Saatchi & Saatchi X, which launched in June 2004 to deliver in-store, below-the-line marketing campaigns.

Kazakeos joins from FPP Design where he was head of point of purchase for more than five years. Previously, he spent four years working for large European point of purchase producers managing point-of-purchase production.

In his new role, Kazakeos will manage the design, production and implementation of specific brand and category focused point-of-sale projects, reporting to Simon Hathaway, managing director of Saatchi & Saatchi X.

The below-the-line agency, which also has offices in Toronto, Geneva and Sydney, as well as London, works with clients such as Procter & Gamble, Microsoft, HP and Visa.

Simon Hathaway, managing director of Saatchi & Saatchi X, said: "Chris will be able to build off the strategic value provided for clients already, in order to deliver and build point of purchase solution projects.

"This high-profile hire is a key part of Saatchi & Saatchi X's drive for rapid change and innovation that will redefine the shopper experience. We have added another skill set to the already sophisticated, specialist offering we have available to clients. It will open up doors for how we use new technology in-store."
