Saatchis duo quit for creative role at MCBD

Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy has hired Saatchi & Saatchi's

deputy creative directors, Dave Hobbs and Richard Stoney, as its newest

creative team.

The pair have specialised in direct marketing creative, but will work on

both above- and below-the-line campaigns at MCBD.

Paul Briginshaw, the creative director of MCBD, said: "They really are

an outstanding team who don't produce the expected DM work. We prefer to

think of ourselves as a no-line agency, which just produces good

creative work. They work well as a team and come at their work from a

completely lateral approach. They have a phenomenal list of awards on

their CVs, which include D&AD and poster awards. They are the modern

face of integrated work which more and more clients are looking

for."

Hobbs worked at J. Walter Thompson Manchester, BMP DDB and Horner Collis

Kirvan before moving to Saatchis in 1991, where he was an art director

before moving on to become the board director and then deputy creative

director. At Saatchis he worked on Columbia Tri-Star, the Army, Toyota

and BA.

Stoney joined Saatchis in 1998, when he was partnered with Hobbs. He

started as a writer at GGT Advertising then became a senior writer at

Euro RSCG/KLP in 1996.

Jeremy Miles, MCBD's chairman, said: "Dave and Richard are outstanding

practitioners in their field. We counted 52 awards on their CVs."
