Saatchi wins Tory post

Advertising mogul Maurice Saatchi, and the former Tory health spokesman, Liam Fox, are to share the post of Conservative Party chairman after a reshuffle of the shadow cabinet.

Lord Saatchi, who many credit as an instrumental force in the election of Margaret Thatcher's government, will take the role of senior chairman over Fox.

Lord Saatchi, with his brother Charles, founded the world famous Saatchi & Saatchi creative agency and was responsible for the 'Labour isn't Working' campaign that helped destabilise the then Labour government, leading to a conservative victory in the 1979 election.
