LONDON (Brand Republic) – European media company RTL Group will buy the 35% stake in Channel 5 that it does not own from United News & Media if the price is reasonable, according to reports.
Speaking to French newspaper Le Soir, chief executive Didier Bellens said that RTL also plans to increase its stake in German channels Super RTL and RTL2 –- again, if the price is reasonable. RTL, which includes Pearson’s television interests, owns the channels in partnership with The Walt Disney Company.
