Royal Mail reveals London 2012 Olympics stamps

LONDON - Royal Mail has launched Olympics-themed first-class stamps that feature images of sports that will feature at the London Olympicsand Paralympics.

The first set of stamps includes illustrations of canoe slalom by John Royle and Paralympic archery illustrated by George Hardie. They go on sale on 22 October.

Royal Mail will launch 30 stamps in total in the run-up to the London 2012 Games.

Julietta Edgar, head of special stamps at Royal Mail, said ‘We hope these stamps play their part in the countdown to the Games, but also to highlight both the sporting and cultural legacy of this wonderful event.'
